- Category of issue:Taxes
- Level of issue: State Level (Colorado)
- Who does it affect: All individuals and families
- Why is this important to them? This is important to them because if voters would have passed Amendment 66 people would have paid a higher tax. The tax would have helped with Colorado's school system, pour money into poor, rural school districts, expanded preschool, bought new technology.
- What are your views on the issue? Well I think raising taxes suck, because you don't want to pay for something you don't see in front of you. However, if you want to live in a well kept neighborhood, have the city looking nice, your child go to a very well school, then it will cost you. Nothing is free and if people really want to help out with improving school systems they need to cough it up. Someone mentioned in the article, "not everything is solved with money", but in fact yes it does. Money is the fastest way to solve many problems, as much as you want to deny it, it won't make it a lie.
This is a blog for Texas State students taking FCS 4347 (Family Policy) to be able to post their weekly reading assignment (3 newspaper articles about issues or policies that effect individuals and families) and to write their reactions, opinions and implications of the articles.
