- Category of issue:Marijuana
- Level of issue: State Level (Colorado)
- Who does it affect? All families and individuals
- Why is important to individuals and/or families? This policy is important because many may still have a more conservative perspective when it comes to marijuana. This is a situation the will be handled like liquor so we would not want to have kids smoking, or anyone driving high which may lead to accidents.
- What are your views on this issue? My views on this new policy that passed is that is a great idea. I always thought the legalization of marijuana would help plenty, knowing that they would be a tax, all that money can go to schools, or health care, or any city construction. Tax money that Coloradans weren't willing to write a blank check to the government for. Now that they will be buying marijuana they don't even pay attention about how much in taxes they will be paying off. I hope this becomes a movement throughout that nation just like they mentioned in the article. This just seems like the most simple solution to one of the country's biggest problem.
This is a blog for Texas State students taking FCS 4347 (Family Policy) to be able to post their weekly reading assignment (3 newspaper articles about issues or policies that effect individuals and families) and to write their reactions, opinions and implications of the articles.
