2. Education
3. State Level
4. A potential policy that is being considered to help a problem/issue that individuals/families face
5. This affects families by allowing lower income families to send their children to school. This policy would raise awareness in communities and would also raise the a mount of students pursuing a higher education.
6. I am in love with the idea of this program. There are many
lower income families with children who demonstrate exceptional performance in
school who deserve to be rewarded. Many of these children don’t even think of
the possibility of going to college much less of going to an Ivy League school
or one of the top colleges in the state. This program was inspired by another program
implemented by President Obama; I feel that it would be a start to a greater
future in education. There needs to be
more programs like this created to inform and educate potential college
candidates. Many families do not help and encourage their children to pursue a
higher education because they are not acquainted with the college process.
Executing programs like this will give many top schools a wonderful reputation.
Many Americans will turn to these schools as their top college choices knowing
that they are very understanding and give back to the community in this way. I
remember that as I applied to different colleges I knew that I was going to
look first off to an institution that was going to be accessible to many in
many ways. I come from a middle class family in which I am the first generation
to go to college, to me it was important that whatever school I chose was chosen
because it dedicated time to me. What I mean by this is I wanted a school that
would give me one on one attention if I had any questions about the way the
admission and financial aid process work. I think that this policy should be
enacted in various other states.
