2. Category of problem/issue identified in article : economy and financial

3. Level of problem/issue state level

4. The article is concerning: A problem/issue that individuals/families face

5. This issue is important to individuals and families that receive food stamps. Cuts made to food stamp assistance could cause families and individuals that need them to go hungry.

6. My view on this issue is that it could do more harm than good. I understand that the long term goal of the budget cuts in food stamp assistance is to save American billions of dollars but it has the potential to do more harm than good. Families and Individuals that depend and need food stamp assistance could end up starving. I personally think that the government should find another way of saving this country money and continue to help feed the poor and hungry.

  1. Yes I agree with the writer on this issue of budget cuts in food stamp assistance doing more harm than good. This state in particular is still having oil-drilling booms in the rural areas that are adding billions of dollars to the state's budget. There has to be a way for Texas to come up with a plan so those who really need food stamp assistance do not suffer.
