2. Welfare
3. National
4. An "enacted" policy that is being considered to help a problem/issue that individuals/families face
5. This issue is important to families and their children when it comes to living in poverty and receiving food stamps. It is also in regards to trying to get our country out of poverty as a whole and making cuts within this bill to help do this.
6. To me, making these deep cuts in food stamps is definitely a part of the solution to the issue here. What we also need to do, as stated in the article under this new bill, is make regulations to the people that are receiving these food stamps. Food stamps and welfare is something that is greatly abused in our society. Yes, there is a place for welfare and food stamps in the world, and is something that is greatly needed but should only be provided to those who are truly in need of it. These stipulations under this bill are also things that need to be monitored. You cannot just tell these people they need to do this, this and this. The government needs to monitor these people’s lifestyles over a certain period of time and be sure to show that they are making progress. In making these cuts over a ten year period of time is helping to set a deadline to these people and help get them out there and get jobs so they are able to get off of receiving the food stamps. If we continue to spend these billions of dollars on food stamps then we will make no progress with the issue, and these people that are receiving welfare and food stamps from 4 different programs are going to continue to live their careless lifestyles with the money handed to them.
