2. Category of Problem/Issue identified in article: Economy and Safety
3. Level of problem/issue: National Level
4. A problem/issue that individuals/families face
5. Why this is important to individuals/families OR How does this affect individuals/families: The problem that we as individuals/Americans face is that if our country does go to war, not only are soldiers going over with the risk of their lives being lost but it also affects our economy. Syria has modern weaponry so the U.S would have to advance their technology of weapons to even win or make a dent. Also, issues with the post September 11 decision make citizens feel uneasy. We're not even completely out of those countries yet. It just looks as if we're policing the world again with another incredibly expensive and dangerous war.
6. What are your views on the issue/policy? I honestly didn't realize how big of a deal this was until I read this article. The U.S. is already sneaking 50 CIA trained Syrian rebels into Syria. According to this article, it looks as if Congress will back Obama's decision up to intervene. I'm just worried because Syria will have North Korea as well as Russia on their side. Not too long ago, North Korea gave us a nuclear missile scare. They say this will be WWIII but in the previous World Wars, they fought with guns and bombs. Now we have nuclear weapons. That's a scary thought. It was smart of Obama to send out the Syrian rebels as a test before he sends the soldiers out there for attack. At least we can hold off on putting more soldiers in the Middle East.
