A potential policy that is being
considered to help a problem/issue that individuals/families face
5. This article is important to both individuals
and families because of every person’s availability to healthcare. If Perry’s
orders are put into effect, it may be a little more confusing and more
difficult for one to get the right healthcare plan needed.
6.
As
of now, there are many nonprofit organizations trying to help out any way
possible and find affordable healthcare for each person; however, Rick Perry
feels that these workers and volunteers need additional training in order to do
so. It is hard to say whether I agree with these additional requirements or
not. On the one hand, I do not care for the new healthcare system that has been
put into effect, so in a way, I do agree with Perry. On the other hand, though
the healthcare plan HAS been put into effect and putting additional
requirements would make it more difficult for consumers to get the right plan
for them. Healthcare plans in themselves are difficult to understand (Hello! Politicians
are writing them!!), and it would be nicer if there were people available to
help you decipher which plan is best. In the end, consumers are saving money
and getting the most out of the healthcare system. However, I do believe these
workers and volunteers need the proper training in order to preserve the
consumer’s privacy standards.
Rick Perry as stated in the
article “has been the state’s chief critic of the federal health insurance
overhaul”. With that being said, it is hard to know Perry’s true motivations
for these tighter requirements. Does he honestly feel that these people are not
adequately trained? Or is it simply that Perry does not care for “Obamacare”
and wants to make it more difficult for consumers to gain adequate access to it?
