Abortion Rights Lawsuit Filed Against State of Texas

  1. http://www.austinchronicle.com/news/2013-10-04/abortion-rights-lawsuit-filed-against-state-of-texas/
  2. Category of issue: Abortion
  3. Level: State
  4. This issue affects all women in Texas
  5. Why does this affect individuals/families? Well if women are limited to abortion services, health risks could involve them trying to desperately trying to perform the abortion themselves.
  6. My view on this issue is less conservative than what most Texans believe. I believe that there should be abortions clinics available even in rural areas, if we make it harder for women to get to the clinic then this could affect the course of the rest of pregnancy and her health. Many women don't believe they have to carry a pregnancy if they aren't ready, even if it was a mistake and women should face the consequence that doesn't necessarily mean make your whole life difficult and stressful. A pregnancy should be a time when a women should feel nurturing, joyful, and beautiful to be able to bring life into the world, but the right way being prepared to give everything the baby deserves and not having to struggle as much if the pregnancy was unplanned. Many of these women live in poverty and choose abortion to make sure that child doesn't live in poverty our nation has enough children in poverty we don't need to keep adding.
In conclusion I think Texas should not shut down abortion clinics, also to not remove the medical abortion pill which does not include surgery, and to extend the time they are able to take it because in 49 days most women don't have a clue they are pregnant.
