4. An “enacted” policy that has been passed to help with a problem/issue that individuals/families face
5. Why this is important to individuals/families OR How does this affect individuals/families?
Individuals and families living in San Marcos or visiting San Marcos can easily access important city information. They will be able to report issues in a more convenient manner as well as check up on their reported issues to see if they have been handled.
6. What are your views on the issue/policy?
I think this is a great way for people of San Marcos to stay connected to the city and what it's doing. With technology increasing every day, it's important for city representatives to stay on top of this. It allows those people who don't go to city council meetings and aren't physically involved, to feel like they're actually an active part of the city through their smart phones. I personally like it because you can get emergency updates and event updates sent right to your phone. I also love that if there's a problem with construction or a train stalled on the tracks, I can report it instantly using my phone which allows for a quicker response from the city representatives. The only downside is that you have to have a smart phone, obviously, so not everyone can access this feature so conveniently. Overall, this is a great idea and they should have thought of it sooner.
