Plano ISD seeks record number of class-size waivers from state

Plano ISD seeks record number of class-size waivers from state

2. education

3. local level

4. a problem/issue that individuals/families face

5. This issue is important for both families and individuals. It is important for teachers because their class rooms can possible grow by four students. It is also important for families to be aware of because the increase in class size can cause their child/children from receiving the best educational opportunities.

6. I personally think that increasing the class size from 22 to 26 is a negative thing. My mom is a teacher and I know that she can get overwhelmed with 20 kids in a classroom so I can't image one teacher having to teach 26 kids. I also feel that by increasing the size of a classroom will effect the children's learning environment because they will have less one on one time with the teacher if they need it. The classroom could also become more chaotic and distracting with more children. Time spent on learning could also become a problem because with more children comes with longer allotted times of getting everyone quiet, where they need to be, etc. If I was a teacher or parent in the Plano ISD I would be strongly against this possibility.
