2. Immigration
3. State Level/ National Level
4. A potential policy that is being considered to help a problem/issue that individuals/families face
5. This affect families/ individuals of Texans and the families of the immigrants because of the high numbers of deaths of immigrants found in Texas.
6. My views of this issue is that although immigration seems that it would be a national/federal problem but the funds from federal positions are not helping these small counties with the immigration issue. They are trying their best to step up to the challenge but they are doing nothing but finding a lot of unknown bodies that they have to bury which can be costly and cut in their budget. The reason these immigrants are dying because they are forced to hike 2-3 days to get to the Border Patrol checkpoint. These people have families and looking for hope to support their families and there are plenty of kids in Mexico that will never know what happened to their mother/father since they are dying continuously in Brooks County. These unidentified immigrants are usually crammed into a local cemetery without DNA samples or accurate record for the dead. The potential policy of start taking DNA samples from family member who come looking for missing loved ones is a considerate thing this county is doing. What touched my heart was the Texan citizen who addressed the problem by making the first water station for the immigrants who pass. Although he thinks government needs to add a double -layer border fence he made perfect sense when he stated," If dead human beings don't catch your attention, what the hell else is going to? We're just trying to be human about it." That was the perfect example of what us as citizens can do to help a problem/ issue individual
