Austin Contemplates Far-reaching Drought Measures

1)  http://m.statesman.com/news/news/local/austin-contemplates-far-reaching-drought-measures/nbFZq/
2) What does the issue concern? Drought measures in Austin
3) Level of the issue: Local level
4) The article concerns: Austin facing the worst drought Central Texas has had in years, causing watering bans and even causing restrictions on indoor watering.
5) How are families/individuals affected by the issue?  Extreme droughts in Austin affect locals and tourists to the austin area. Because Austin lakes are suck a big part of the recreational activities, the drying up of the lakes would change the ecosystem of Austin.
6) What are you views in the issue/problem? Seeing as how I've lived in San Marcos for the past five years and visit Austin requently for the sole purpose of the lakes, like I'm sure many people in San Marcos and Austin do.  I feel that the ban for outdoor watering during the day is necessary in Austin for the sake of conserving water , and trying to maintain the depths of the lakes and maintain Austin's  attractions.  With the ban in effect, Austin will at least be able to halt further diminishing of their rivers. I agree with the ban and feel that although it does put a dent on people in the communities day to day lives, it does essentially benefit the city and surrounding cities who benefit from Austin's lakes and water resources.
