2. Category of Problem/Issue identified in article: Health/ medical, education
3. Level of problem/issue: State Level

4. A potential policy that is being considered to help a problem/issue that individuals/families face

5. Why this is important to individuals/families OR How does this affect individuals/families:
This potential policy will affect the right to have abortions nearby in Texas. The stricter regulations will go into effect later on this month.
6. What are your views on the issue/policy?
My view is that it is unfair to those women who are seeking abortions.  I myself, don't think I could ever get an abortion, but that doesn't mean that all other women aren't allowed to either because of my views.  Whether a woman is raped and doesn't want to bear that child, or a women simply didn't use protection and wants her child aborted, I think that it is up to them to make that choice.  There are some women that abuse their right.  My cousin worked at an abortion clinic and saw some women come up to 5 times a year, and not care about being more careful when using protection to prevent abortions.  The stricter regulations would only leave seven counties with abortion clinics - Travis, Bexar, Harris, Dallas, El Paso, Jefferson, and Nueces.  From the six ambulatory surgical centers that offer abortion, the ones in Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth would have to stop.  I think that women should make the decision for themselves whether they want to get an abortion or not.  If a woman makes a decision to have an abortion, it's not going to affect you, so why should you worry.  This would also mean that for some who want to get an abortion would have to drive more than 100 miles as well as be wait-listed.  This would lead to longer-wait appointments, pushing some procedures into the second trimester.  This could lead to illegal abortions, and children being born to parents who don't want them.  I don't think it would be fair for that child.
