- Category of issue: Abortion
- Level of Issue: National
- This issue affects individuals and families.
- Why does this issue affect individuals/families? This issue affects the process of a woman being able to have an abortion. Abortions providers will have admitting privileges to hospitals that may not be in the area for many women.
- What are your views on this issue? Like I mention before I believe that Abortion clinics should be readily available to most cities and rural areas where pregnancy rates are higher. I agree with the provision of not having an abortion after the 5th month which is about 20 weeks. Back to the admitting privileges, to be honest I don't fully understand it. I am thinking it means that abortions providers will have the privileges to admit patients but only at hospital, meaning it may be out of reach for some women and it will cost much more. If I grasped the idea correctly then I disagree with that completely.
This is a blog for Texas State students taking FCS 4347 (Family Policy) to be able to post their weekly reading assignment (3 newspaper articles about issues or policies that effect individuals and families) and to write their reactions, opinions and implications of the articles.
