- This issue effects all students and the parentals/guardians of those students.
- This issue is important because it kept students from attending school.
- My views on this issue are that the bus drivers need to stop being selfish, and to react to new policies in a different manner. The bus drivers that walked out of the job affected about 18% of all students who use the bus to get to school. That is a lot of students stranded, what age exactly were they? I don't know but just imagine your son, daughter, little brother or sister left on the corner and not knowing where or what to do? The mayor of Boston said on the radio during an interview that the bus drivers walked out to strike for very selfish reasons. There was a change in how payroll is conducted, a new GPS system set up on the buses for parents to know where their kids are at in real time. The bus drivers apparently go complain to the National Labor Relations Board for any issue they might have. Well due to the government shutdown the National Labor Relations Board is not operating. So thanks to this shut down it is affecting many American lives, including children. Crazy how this domino effect takes place, and all because we can't come to a simple reasoning.
This is a blog for Texas State students taking FCS 4347 (Family Policy) to be able to post their weekly reading assignment (3 newspaper articles about issues or policies that effect individuals and families) and to write their reactions, opinions and implications of the articles.
